The Ship: Silver Dawn

Click link to deck Plans

A new world of luxury is waiting aboard Silver Dawn. Both classic yet modern, Silver Dawn is the natural evolution of the Silversea fleet. Large enough to offer eight dining options – including the superb Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) programme – yet small enough for the famed Silversea on board ambience, Silver Dawn inherits the best features of her sister ships Silver Muse and Silver Moon, but is in a class all of her own. Sumptuous suites, cutting-edge design, and state-of-the-art technology, Silver Dawn sets new standards of luxury.

Besides our fabulous bridge program, days on board include leisure time by the pool or on the sundeck, partaking in a myriad of daily entertainment options, staying fit with wellness classes, rejuvenating in their exquisite Otium spa, getting lost at the movies or enriching yourself with guest lecturers.

Evenings on board are filled with music and joy. Enjoy a rousing cabaret show or a theater production, test your luck at the Casino, step onto the stage for karaoke or simply find a quiet place on deck to revel in the serenity of the sounds of the ocean while gazing at the stars.

July 21 - Venice, Italy (overnight) Embark PM

Navigate the floating city of Venice by romantic gondola, or walk the city's labyrinth of tiny streets. Hurry to Piazza San Marco and around the corner to the Doge’s Palace, then walk across the covered Bridge of Sighs. For more adventure, Vaporetto trips to Murano with its world-famous glass, Torcello with its amazing Cathedrals, or Burano with its handmade lace and delightfully colorful painted houses will delight.

July 22 - Venice, Italy Depart 2 PM

July 23 - Hvar, Croatia 8 AM to 11 PM

Hvar is a glorious idyll of hidden coves, electric blue waters and quietly contented port towns. Soak up the energy, exuberance and fine dining, or sidestep the hedonism to explore a richly refined, rural and historic island. Bike ride along long sweeping coastal paths, walk through fields of purple lavender, or take a short ferry ride to the incredible Golden Horn.

July 24 - Split, Croatia 8 AM to 11 PM

Split is a city of romantic beauty, built against the backdrop of dramatic limestone mountains. The setting may be spectacular, but it’s the Diocletian’s Palace - a Roman remain of incredible scale and detail that is truly bewitching.  The expansive seafront promenade is all palm trees, buzzing bars and eateries, and further out you’ll find the peace of Marion Hill, where you can climb to some of the best views in town. Nearby Trogir is another UNESCO World Heritage Site to explore.

July 25 - Dubrovnik, Croatia 8 AM to 11 PM

Dubrovnik’s daunting fortress town is a truly imposing sight to behold. Encircled by stone walls so thick and dramatic, this city’s old town is the setting for countless films and shows - like Game of Thrones - seeking a truly authentic medieval flavor.  Nearby beaches like Banje offer a chance to refresh yourself in the calm, clear sea.  Enjoy sunset drinks and watch as flotillas of sea kayaks roll by, or sail on the pristine waters to explore island gems like Lokrum, where peacocks are the only residents.

July 26 - Kotor, Montenegro 8 AM to 10 PM

Squeezing in through the tight Bay of Kotor is a daunting and impressive approach in itself, as you arrive via Europe’s most southerly fjord. Under Venetian influence for four centuries, the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site old town invites you to wander. Visit the maritime museum that is contained within Grgurina Palace, pick your way through tight alleys of workshops and studios, or settle in piazzas for an afternoon coffee or seafood meal. If you’re up for a challenge, tackle the 1,350 steps up to St John's fortress. The views over the gorgeous bay make the arduous slog worth it.

July 27 - Bari, Italy 8 AM to 7 PM

Bari is a historic port town where matriarchs roll out sheets of pasta in open doorways, footballs rattle along dusty streets, and sun-wrinkled old men lay out hands of cards. Wander along the Lungomare Promenade to breathe in fresh salty air and take a ride for some of the best views out over Bari’s waterfront. Enjoy local traditional food that is simple and rich in flavors. Highlights easily within your reach include Lecce’s grand baroque architecture, the conical-roofs of the trulli houses of Alberobello, and the incredible cave dwellings of Matera.

July 28 - Corfu, Greece 8 AM to 11 PM

With over 3,000 years of history, Corfu’s UNESCO World Heritage List Old Town brings together Corfu’s mesh of European influences. Take the hike up to the 13th-century Paleokastritsa Monastery. Inside, explore gold-framed frescoes, watch as monks squeeze oil from the monastery’s trees’ bounty and then wander out among the groves to views of Corfu’s never-ending sea below. At sea-level, head to the famous Canal d’Amour where Island legend says couples who swim together in this narrow channel of water stay together forever.

July 29 - Cruising the Ionian Sea

July 30 - Valletta, Malta 8 AM to 10 PM

Built by the Knights of St John, Valletta is a compact, richly historical treasure trove of Baroque wonders. See the prehistoric and megalithic sites of the Hypogeum of Paola and Tarxien and the fascinating War Museum at Fort St Elmo.  Ascend to reach the restful, flower-filled Upper Barrakka Gardens, where cannons fire and boom in salute at noon each day, sending echoing cracks of noise out across the waves below.

July 31 - Taormina (Sicily), Italy 8 AM to 6 PM

The first Greek settlement on Sicily, Naxos is surrounded by remarkable remains. Kick back by the waves and cool off with a dip into the sea's refreshing embrace or head up to the spectacular Taormina hillside town perched against the looming backdrop of Mount Etna rising in the distance. The majestic, honey-colored Greek theatre is a highlight, as are the vineyards you walk though to ascend the 1,737-metre incline to the summit of the legendary mountain of fire, Europe's most active volcano.

Aug 1 - Palermo (Sicily), Italy 8 AM to 6 PM

Juicy lemons weigh down the branches of the capital of Sicily's tree-lined streets, while treats like fresh cannoli tubes provide a sweet taste of local cuisine. Explore this city at leisure, or head out to nearby villages, which offer preserved medieval charm. Stacked markets spill out onto Palermo’s souk-like streets, while grand piazzas host elaborate fountains and sculptures. The 12th-century Palermo Cathedral, the Norman Palace, and the sweeping archways of the adjacent Royal Chapel are a highlight.

Aug 2 - Naples, Italy (overnight) Arrive 8 AM

In Naples, overflowing market stalls sell handcrafted goods along tight alleyways, hidden courtyards serve up glasses of glowing Aperol Spritz and wood-fired ovens make the shockingly under-priced, margherita pizza. Wash it down with a bottle of wine perfected by the fertile slopes of Mount Vesuvius, which destroyed and conserved the ancient city of nearby Pompeii, a must-see highlight. The Amalfi coast’s immeasurable beauty also stretches out close by, while Capri’s glorious island can be accessed by a quick hydrofoil to visit the Blue Grotto.

Aug 3 - Naples, Italy  Depart 6 PM

Aug 3 - Sorrento, Italy  8 AM to 6 PM

Sorrento is the perfect base for exploring the curvaceous roads of the Amalfi coast to visit Positano, Praino or Amalfi. Sorrento itself has oodles of rustic fishing town charm, so don't rush off too quickly. Piazza Tasso is the locals’ main meeting spot and a starting point for a wander through the picturesque streets. Stroll through Corso Italia - Sorrento's spine - which is lined with boutiques, museums, bars and alfresco restaurants.

Aug 4 - Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy Arrive 7am
All roads lead to Rome, and with good reason - with back-to-back landmarks, which will take you on an exhilarating journey through the ages, this is the opus of our voyage. Visit the  incredible Roman Forum, the storied Colosseum, and the Vatican City.  Stroll the pedestrian-only side of the city to make a wish at the Trevi Fountain, climb the Spanish steps and indulge in Piazza Navona's restaurants and nightly entertainment.
