FAQ
ARE THERE COVID REGULATIONS?
Yes. Everyone's health is a PRIORITY. Our travel partners require proof of vaccination and also test each guest for Covid at embarkation. On board, the ships dedicated safety team is continuously sanitizing, reminding everyone about healthy practices and checking temperatures at the entrances of dining room.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CRUISE BY MYSELF?
We love our valuable 'singletons'! You will be seated at one of our tables in the dining room with other guests in our group, many are traveling alone also! You will enjoy optional tour excursions that we do together as a group and of course, we guarantee a bridge partner for you!
I FEAR GETTING SEASICK. HOW CAN I AVOID THIS?
We chose vessels that are equipped with state-of-the-art stabilizers which minimizes getting 'mal de mer." However, there are many remedies for the occasional bout - a patch behind your ears, a special wrist band which applies pressure points to relieve the feeling, plus various medications that your doctor can prescribe for you. The vast majority of our guests do not suffer from seasickness.
IS THERE A CHARGE FOR TOURS?
Sometimes. Some of our ships include a number of excursions; others do not. We typically choose two or three tours that we think our group would like and you can join us. It is always more fun together.
WHAT IS THE LEVEL OF BRIDGE PLAY?
We have all levels in our group, from the lofty to the middle-of-the road players. We stress "zero tolerance" but in a much friendlier way. Our emphasis in all of our games is FUN! We are an ACBL-sanctioned club and award black and SILVER points.
I HAVE CERTAIN DIETARY REQUESTS? CAN I BE ACCOMMODATED?
All of our travel partners can accommodate almost any dietary request from gluten-free, sugar-free, lactose-free; salt-free and many more "frees". Just ask and we will do our best to get what you need.
I AM VERY SENSITIVE TO (CHOOSE ONE) SMOKE; MOLD; DOWN PILLOWS; PERFUME...HOW IS THIS HANDLED ON BOARD?
Smoking is restricted to one or two areas outdoors and one public room (cigar lounge) indoors. Those sensitive to carpets or mold should request an air purifier in their room. There is a pillow menu so you can choose from a whole list of pillows to suit your needs. As for perfume, we request that our bridge players not wear fragrances when playing bridge or at dinner.
DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?
We highly recommend travel insurance as things happen. In an unexpected situation it can be a relief to know that everything is being handled and taken care of. If it is a small price to pay to insure your peace of mind. We can help you will getting good coverage at a nominal cost, too.
MY SPOUSE DOES NOT PLAY BRIDGE. CAN YOU GET ME A PARTNER FOR THE CRUISE?
Absolutely, guaranteed. Many come on our bridge cruise without a partner; you will have several choices.
DO I HAVE TO GO TO ALL OF THE BRIDGE ACTIVITIES?
Nobody comes to all of our bridge activities - we have sanctioned ACBL duplicates and lessons every day, whether at sea or in port.
You are on vacation. You can choose to design the perfect balance of bridge, adventure, and relaxation to create the best holiday for you!
CAN I SCHEDULE AND EARLY FLIGHT ON THE DATE WE DISEMBARK?
It all depends on the port - what time we come in and how far away is the airport. If the airport is a distance from the ship (London is at least 1 1/2 hours from the port; Rome is the same) then you should not book a flight before 12 noon. If we overnight in the port, you can make the flight as early as you want.
IS THERE REALLY TIME TO DO EVERYTHING?
Yes indeed - you will have your three meals-a-day, go to the nightly shows after dinner, dance the night away, win in the Casino (we hope), listen to the fascinating lecturers (either live or on your in-room TV), have a computer lesson, a dance lesson, a golf lesson and all that each cruise line offers - imagine all that, plus our daily bridge program and seeing the ports on your cruise!
Yes, you can do it all, or nothing at all!
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL THE CRUISE?
It depends on the Cruise line. Each line has a fair cancellation policy, especially now. Most allow you to cancel up to 120 days before sailing. In today's changing travel environment, it's important to protect your trip investment so you can relax and enjoy your trip. Unforeseen events such as flight delays, baggage loss or even an unexpected sickness or injury could impact your travel plans. Contact us for details for your particular bridge cruise.
